BIOGRAPHY
Echodrone's latest release, Bon Voyage, continues the San Francisco 4-piece's excursion upon the oceans of hazey shoegaze and seas of calm, blissful dreampop, navigating by the heavens of space-rock and by the stars shining overhead. Bon Voyage sets a course taken by gazey touchstone artists Spiritualized, Talk Talk, and Engineers to coordinates all their own.
The six tracks comprising Bon Voyage further expand upon the sonic textures and studio experimentation first heard in 2007's debut EP Echodrone and continued in 2009's full-length release The Sun Rose in a Different Place, adding swooning vocal harmonies, thudding, wobbling bass and multilayered, shimmering guitar lines to the mix.
Produced and engineered by drummer Mark Tarlton and mastered by Mike Cresswell, Bon Voyage can be purchased directly from the band's website www.echodrone.com and many digital retailers.
Birthed in the SF Bay Area in 2005 by Eugene Suh (guitar squall/piano/electronics/vocals) and Brandon Dudley (bass/electronics), Echodrone's current lineup was completed in 2007/8 with the arrival of Mark Tarlton (drums/sound engineering) and Meredith Gibbons (guitar skrunk/vocals).
Their debut EP was a top-seller on shoegaze site Tonevendor and voted #2 listener favorite on Vertigo Radio. The Sun Rose in a Different Place received significant airplay on Soma FM, radio stations such as KZSU and mentions on music blogs ShoegazerAlive, Milk Milk Lemonade and Shelflife Records.
